At The Pub Quiz Company, we take your privacy seriously — but not ourselves. We’re committed to earning and keeping the trust of everyone who attends our quiz nights or visits our website.
Let’s get this out of the way early: we do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise flog your email address or personal details to other companies for marketing purposes. We hate when that happens to us, so we don’t do it either.

At Our Quiz Nights
What We Collect & Why
During our quiz nights, we may collect some personal information. This can include (but isn’t limited to):
- Your name (usually as a team name)
- Photos taken during the event
We only collect names if you provide one (for example, as a team name) or if we need to contact you for a legitimate reason. If your team name is used, it may be visible publicly on our website or on our social media platforms.
Photos at Quiz Nights
We take photos at our quiz nights because:
- they’re fun,
- they show how great the nights are, and
- they help us promote future events.
By taking part in a quiz night, you agree to photos being taken and used on our website, social media, and other marketing materials. This consent is given when you accept our quiz night terms and conditions (at the start of the night).
If you’d rather not appear in close-up photos, just tell the quizmaster — they’re friendly, but sadly not psychic.
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to request removal of images that identify you. If you spot a photo you’d like changed or removed, email us at hello@thepubquizcompany.com and tell us which image it is.
We’ll remove it or anonymise it (possibly by replacing your face with something tasteful — or Chuck Norris).

Under UK GDPR, you have rights over your personal data, including:
- the right to access the data we hold about you;
- the right to correct inaccurate data;
- the right to request deletion of your data (where applicable);
- the right to withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

Personal information means anything that can identify you — such as your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or photo. (Waist size optional, and frankly none of our business.)
You can browse most of our website without giving us any personal information. We do use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site, but these collect anonymous, aggregated data only. We don’t track individual users or tie visits to specific IP addresses.
If you choose to contact us via the website, we’ll collect the information you provide so we can:
- respond to your enquiry;
- provide information you’ve asked for;
- keep our records accurate.
Children & Privacy
If you’re under 13, you’ll need permission from a parent or guardian before contacting us.
